Camp Valaqua runs Wilderness Out-trips for campers 12 years and older. Out-trippers spend the first night at Valaqua getting organized and ready to go and then hit the road the following morning and spend the week in the great outdoors. Our Out-trip leaders facilitate safe and adventurous trips in some of the most beautiful places Alberta has to offer.

Senior Canoe Trip (AGES 13-17) - July 5-10 $597
Paddle each day on the North Saskatchewan river and camp each night on the banks! This is a canoe trip for paddlers with some experience, previous participation in our Canoe Camp is recommended (but not required) and paddlers will navigate faster water and minor rapids as a component of the trip. All paddling equipment and group gear is provided. Campers need dry bags or barrels to hold their personal items.
Canoe Camp (AGES 12-15) - July 12-17 (canoe i), & July 19-24 $597
An introduction to canoe tripping. Campers will paddle each day on the Red Deer River through the badlands and camp at night on the shores. All paddling equipment and group gear is provided. Campers need dry bags or barrels to hold their personal items.
BACKPACK Camp (AGES 12-15) - August 3-7 $497
This trip is great opportunity to get a feel for wilderness backcountry travel. Campers need personal backcountry equipment (sleeping bag and pad, chow kit) and a backpack with a minimum of 45 litre capacity. All group gear including tents and stoves will be provided. Campers will hike each day and carry everything they need for the trip on their back.
aDVENTURE TRAINING CAMP (ATC) (AGES 13-17) - August 9-14 $647
A trip aimed at skill and leadership development in the backcountry. Participants will canoe, backpack and gain skill certifications in these disciplines. Some backcountry experience is recommended. All group gear including tents and stoves will be provided. Campers need personal backcountry equipment (sleeping bag and pad, chow kit) and a backpack with a minimum of 45 litre capacity.
