Hike-a-thon Registration
Welcome hiker! We are so glad you want to be part of our second annual Physically Distanced Hike-a-thon. Here is what you need to know:
You can hike anywhere; your backyard, around the block, up a mountain, anywhere! We encourage you to take pictures and post them (if you like) with the hashtag #valaquahikeathon2021. If you prefer, you can email them to us at office@campvalaqua.com and we can post them. If you don't want them posted, no worries, but we would still love to see your lovely face! We hope you'll hike with us on June 12, but you are welcome to hike anytime in June that works for you.
The fundraising part is you asking for donations to support the camp. You can ask donors for a one time donation or challenge yourself to a donation per kilometer or meter of elevation. Last year one intrepid hiker committed to hiking 100 meters of elevation for every $20 pledged. She ended up climbing 11250m and hiking 258km! Be careful what you commit too!
We encourage donors to donate online at https://mcab.ca/valaqua, but we accept checks and cash. Cash donations can be collected and we can make arrangements to pick them up -OR- you can collect them and submit a check for the amount of the cash donations. If you submit a check, we will contact you to ensure that the cash donors are properly receipted. Please fill in the donation form for your donors so that we can track who the donations are affiliated with. Donors are also asked to drop your name in the "add a message" section of the online form so that we can track donations.
Awards and Prizes
As a super humble thank you, we'll send every registered hiker a custom made 2021 Hike-a-thon sticker. If you fundraise more than $250, you are eligible for a gift card for the store of your choice!
Raise $250, receive a $25 gift card
Raise $500, receive a $50 gift card
Raise $1000, receive a $100 gift card
We will contact you to establish what store you would like a gift card for.
