Camp Valaqua is hiring enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated individuals to help bring our summer camp programs to life! Each year, we welcome 30 staff members into our vibrant community, including Counsellors in Training (CITs), Counsellors, Leadership Staff, and Cooks. Whether you’re just starting your journey in summer camp work or are ready to lead and inspire, there’s a place for you at Camp Valaqua.
Opportunities for Every Passion and Skill Level
Looking for experience? Join our Counsellor in Training (CIT) group and learn leadership skills and learn childcare and leadership skills from our dedicated CIT Director. CITs must have completed grade 10 and volunteer with us for the duration of our program. Only available for part of the summer? Let us know and we will work with you to make sure you get a great experience. The CIT position is volunteer and is not a paid role. There is no cost to the CIT program. CIT applications are due by March 23.
If you’ve completed high school and have a passion for mentoring, apply as a Counsellor and help guide campers through an exciting and meaningful summer. Counsellors care for groups of 4-6 campers ages 7-16 for one week camp programs. Counsellors work directly with kids and Counsellors In Training) to ensure the safety , health, and growth of the kids in their care. Counsellors receive a weekly honorarium as well as room and board. Valaqua is still seeking counsellor applications! This will remain open until the positions are staffed.
Love to cook? Join our kitchen team and play a vital role in fuelling the energy of campers and staff.
Dates and Details
Most roles, including Cooks, Counsellors, and CITs, run from June 30 to August 22, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the camp experience. Leadership positions offer extended involvement, beginning in May or June and lasting up to four months.
